We offer Grade A Kentucky Bluegrass sod. Grade A means that it is virtually weed free. We sow a blend of Kentucky Bluegrass varieties. KBG is a perennial, cool-season grass. This means it comes back year-after-year and tolerates the cold season. KBG grows best during the fall, winter, and spring months when temperatures are cool. Its growth slows during the warm summer months. It is a hearty grass that "repairs" itself" when damaged.

Sod can be installed almost anytime the ground isn't frozen from mid-April through the end of October. Avoid installing sod so late in the fall that the root system doesn't have time to penetrate the soil adequately before the soil freezes. It is best to lay sod in the spring when their is plenty of rain and/or fall when the temperatures drop. If you plant your sod in the heat of summer, be prepared to water often.

The N in the ratio stands for nitrogen, the P stands for phosphorous, and the K stands for potassium. The fertilizer numbers found on the package represent the percentage (by weight) of these three macro-nutrients as they are found in that package.
The best lawn fertilizer ratio usually consists of nitrogen that is 3 to 4 times the phosphorus content. The potassium should be half or a little less than half of the nitrogen content. Ratio wise, 3-1-2 or 4-1-2 is considered ideal for most types of gardening activities.
